Friday is my day to explore, even in the midst of appointments and errands.
Today Punkn’ and I celebrated the afternoon with a cupcake tour at Dolly’s Bake Shoppe, the latest to open in downtown Martinsburg.

Part of the enjoyment this season is the visits from our shadow edge neighbors. We’ve been giving the deer fruit and veggie scraps close to our fence and barn to catch more of them closer to the house. Punkn’ thinks they are Santa’s reindeer. There must have been 7 or more grazing in the snow this sunrise morning.
I am so ready to savor this year’s harvest of vegetables.
Kale—sautéed with olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, sea salt, grated parmesan, and a splash of citrus cilantro vinegar. Topped with a over easy egg.
